The preparation of the WOASP involves a wide range of technical work, stakeholder engagement, plan development and municipal review and approval processes.  A summary of key milestones and anticipated timing is outlined below:

  • The West Okotoks ASP enters 30-day External Circulation process (July 2, 2018)

Please click here to access the latest version of the WOASP that has entered into the external circulation process.  During this process, we will receive additional feedback from key stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and the Town. Comments received through the external circulation process will be reviewed in conjunction with Town feedback and feedback received at the Residents’ Meeting to inform plan revisions. The external circulation process is set to close at the end of July 2018.

On June 28th, 2018, the WOASP team held a 3-hour information session for residents within an 800-metre proximity radius to the plan area. The event was intended to be an opportunity to share additional information about the WOASP, answer questions, and collect feedback from residents. A 30-minute presentation was held to introduce the project, the team, and provide additional background information about the plan’s history and purpose. The feedback received from this event is currently being summarized and responded to through a “What We Heard Report”.

  • The West Okotoks ASP is resubmitted to the Town of Okotoks (May 25, 2018)

After extensive review and engagement with Town Administration and key stakeholders, the West Okotoks ASP has been revised and resubmitted to the Town on May 25, 2018. The next step is for the Town to place the ASP into external circulation for review by other regulatory bodies, school divisions, and utility companies. Once the ASP is placed in external circulation, the public engagement process will be initiated.
